I have a non-vtec 96 Del Sol Si. What puzzles me is that almost everywhere I look for mods there is 93-95 Si, but no 96. Everything beyond that is an S or a V-tec. Anyone explain this to me? Thanx:confused:

if you have a '96 Si then you have SOHC VTEC motor. The easiest wya to find out is to look at hte spark plugs. If htey're in the front (on top) then it's a SOHC VETC if they're towards the back (on top) then you have an SOHC non-vtec S model.......Good Luck!!

depending on the part you're looking for you'll probably use an earlier year. I've got a 97 Si and as an example, the CAI is for a 92-95 Si (incidentally, you'll have to drill a hole for the extra sensor).

Your engine is a D16Y8. This is the same engine that is in a Civic EX up to '00. If a part will fit a Civic it GENERALLY will fit a sol (obvious exception - cat back exhausts). In the Si series they put some of 'del Sol VTEC' additions into it for handling (like the sway bars). If you're buying parts online, call the customer service number and they can usually help you out and make sure that the part will fit correctly.

I feel your pain dude. 97 Si's are a bitch to find parts for too!
