I just bought a turbo yesterday and today when i was looking at it i noticed a few small cracks. The cracks are around the wastegate flap on the exhaust side housing. they are about 1/4 in long hairline cracks. Is it safe to use the turbo? is there anything i can do to stop them spreading?

those are very small cracks so everything should be ok. however with time/heat they will get bigger. just remember to check on it once in a while.
