Easy IF you can get the crank pulley bolt loose. That's the hard part. Although removing the stock harmonic dampner will possibly shorten the life of the engine. Just a thought.

Quite simply it doesn't dampen vibrations from the crankshaft so the engine see more vibration and the parts fail sooner due to more stress. This has been argued back and forth many times and some guy will probably post saying his car or a friend s has the pulley on the crankshaft and runs it hard and it will last forever, but Honda put a dmpner there more a reson and they have a team of guys that do nothing but think about weird shit to improve your motor. I trust them more than most other people. It is fine to change the accessory pulleys though that won't effect the engine it's self except to relieve some of the work from it.

the special tool looks like a giant nut with a bar welded to it so it can hold the outside of the hex in the crank pulley while allowing you to pass a socket through it to bust the crank pulley bolt loose. I can't remeber the torque spec but it is somewhere near 130ftlbs
