I have a quick question. What is the purpose of cutting bumpstops? Ive done a few spring and shock installs but never have cut the bumpstops. So far no one has had any problems with their ride. Ive had my car dropped for more than a year now with no real problems. Anyone know why cutting the bumpstops are important? Thanks..

oh and dont make fun of me.. i have my flamesuit on

Cutting bumpstops allow great suspesnion travel.
Not sure what car u have but with my 98 civic, u can get away with not cutting the rear bumpstops cause there is more travel than the front.
The front only have .5 in suspension travel and mine is not even that low.
I use the ride on uncut bumpstop, when i cut them off half and rode the car again, it made difference in ride quality.

yeh, if you drop it really low, you'll need to,
as he said, for suspension travel.

but if your not dropin too much it might not matter.

IC ic so cutting the bumpstops just opens up more room for my shocks to travel right? Yeah I guess Im pretty low, about 2 inches all around. Ill give it a try tomorow and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the replies fellas.
