Hey all

today i noticed that my cv boot was leaking and cracked and i didnt want to have to replace anyhting cause im cheap and i have no money. so until i buy my new boot kit i decided a quick fix was nessesary. so here it is

what you need are the following:
a jack
duct tape(the good stuff)
towels
and a flashlight (if your doing it at night)

and then you need to jack your car up so that the front wheel is off the ground so you can spin it

then you need to clean the boot

in this pic you can see the small crack that was causing me all my trouble

then take a long peice of duct tape long enough so it will overlap itself. and then place it in the center groove.

and as your doing this turn the wheel and keep pushing it in so it goes around the whole boot.

and VIOLA it is done this will sefice for a day or two and then you can go get yourself a boot

if you would like to comment please do

 I hope you used a jackstand... I wouldn't trust my body parts to a teenie-tiny jack even if it's just to reach in there to fix the boot. Oh well, I guess you survived if you typed out this thread! LOL!;):tu2:

well 2 days doesn't really prove it works i mean I know a few people including me who drove w/a cracked cv boot for months w/o real problems, after too long it would knock and make noise when you hit a turn but other then that, A to B transportation was still accomplished hehe, but I wish ya luck w/the duct :D
