i believe the gear ratios on cx & si are quite diff, since cx is 1.5l compares to si 1.6l tranny (not so damn sure)...but since ur doin a swappin, mind as well replace the tranny also? and tbw, if both motors are the same year, u might have trouble gettin ur emission smog test, because i think the laws said u have to get a newer yr motor (at least one yr newer than ur current)....well, good luck ;)

Dont use your current tranny, if you can't find an Si, then at least get an EX. The EX roughly has 20% shorter gears then the cx/dx.

tranny

so far everyone's been on point.... as long as you're tossing in a d series motor back into the car, you will have no problems, they will bolt right up. The cx tranny does have WAAAAAYYYY longer gears though, so acceleration is gonna bite! EX and SI trannies are the same ratio, and normally the ex is a little cheaper because it's not an "SI" tranny.... still the same thing. the one thing you're gonna have to watch is when you swap the motor and ecu, you're gonna need to run two wires for the v-tec. 92 cx's are the only year cx or dx wired for v-tec. 93-95 cx/dx do not have those two wires in the harness for the v-tec. you're gonna have to run those seperately. that should be the only thing that you can't "plug and play". Good luck!
