I have a 89 crx with a D15b in it. I just bought a 94 civic ex four door with a d16y8. I got it for $400 because the kid said it had a really bad rod knock. When i got it home i took a good look at it and the noise was the harmonic balancer banging around not a rod knock. I talked to the kid and he told me that he just had the timing belt done on it. What i figure happend was the backyard mechanic he had do it f'd up the balancer. On my crx i have an underdrive pulley. So i have an extra d15 balancer laying around so the question is can i use that on a d16y8 engine?

I think i got a really good deal :clap

a lot of hype about new motors. that could be why it may have been swapped...

also DO NOT USE a D15 pully on the D16's... EVER.
