so i just bought a '94 civic ex coupe, and it has kind of a rough start, and also when i begin to take off, it spits and sputters from idle to 3000rpms.......anyone know what could be the problem????

check your distributor plugs and wires. but it sounds like an ignition problem. does it sound like a wrx at idle?

at idle...no, jus when it starts it does, then it cleans itself up. when its cold it runs jus fine idle-past 3000rpms, just when it warms up, it gets rocky in that area.

change your plugs and wires. i'm 90% sure you have a plug that's about to take a complete shit. do your plugs and wires if the problem persists check your dizzy, anything after that is ecu related but i doubt that's the problem

ok, will do that, but then another question, why is it that after 3000rpms, there are no problems with the acceleration? it runs clean, like new.

because the motor is up to speed and the combustion cycles are fast enough that you don't notice the dip in power. trust me it's still running like shit you just can't tell as much
replace all of you're plugs and you'll notice a difference
