Hey all! It sure has been a while! I have an issue and need some help.

I have a 97 Civic EX with the stock deck and changer. My volume knob will more often than not work the opposite way... If I want to turn the volume down, it will go up. And, the lights on the deck work when they feel like it. I really don't feel like tearing apart the whole car to get to the deck. Has anyone has this problem?? Or, any suggestions. And, no, I do not want to replace my deck. I want to keep the stock deck and stock changer. Thanks!!

Most likly your deck is F* up, that all that i can say. If you dont want to take out the deck, there is really nothing you can do. I know you said that you dont want to replace the deck. Im not sure if you meant u dont want to replace THAT deck or dont want to replace it with an aftermarket. If you dont mind just swapping out the deck with a another 96-98 civic deck you can find a used one for about $50 or so.

try taking it out (its really not that huge of a project), then clean the connections with some sontact cleaner.
