Replaced the fuel pump some time ago, as suggested. It's still delaying - sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 5 minutes.

Can main relay be causing the delay? If so where is the most likely location?

Spent the 69.99 on a main relay ... got it in ... and It's still hosed. Did I mention I'm out 69.99? Fuel pump still delays 1 to 5 minutes after turning the key before it will prime.

I had a bright idea. I noticed while adjusting the relay mount that, with the key on, it primed everytime the bracket touched ground. So I'm considering mounting it to an ungrounded object and running a switch between the bracket and ground.

Comments?

Any other ideas? Junk it?

you have a serious electrical issue if that's happening. it could be a number of things. I had an issue with my fuel pump not priming at all, and not getting any power to the main relay and the issue ended up being the fuse box under the hood had corrosion on the terminals where the harness plugged in.
