it'd be pretty easy for someone to get their criminal hands pass the mesh wire and be able to feel around near the hood latch and what not, eh?
haha "criminal hands", thats funny!
:p :p
But anyway...I would assume one could get in there easily if they wanted too.

If you end of meshing your grill...I suggest using black mesh. Looks better imo.

I want to go ahead and do a grill for the front of my car as shown in the pic I attached, but I was wondering, it'd be pretty easy for someone to get their criminal hands pass the mesh wire and be able to feel around near the hood latch and what not, eh? Any thoughts on this?
Why don't you just buy the Type R upper gril for your car? Its only like $75 or so.

Sorry but I fail to see the logic in ripping off your stock front end and throwing on something with a huge opening to just fill it with chicken wire.
You don't buy a new front end. You add the chicken wire to the stock bumper. I like it when done in black. Nice subtle touch.

If anyone wanted to get their hands on whatever's under the hood, a trivial thing like the type of grill you chose would hardly slow them down. If you make your own, it would make it easier for theives, but one of the better made factory ones may offer better protection. My point is, do it if you want to. Theives will always find a workaround if they want to.

What would look really good is a nice fat IC behind there with a turbo lurking under the hood. That'd be a nice, subtle touch. :)
Agree with ya on that one!

Well most body kits have cheap chicken wire in them, but they still look good. Well at least to me.

Yeah so if a theive wanted to steal your car why not find some other way. The only thing they could steal would be your motor if they had the hood open.
They will find other ways.

IMO Black is the best colour for a grill. I did my upper in black rain gaurd, and it looks good.

cause doing it yourself costs about $20 dollars :p

and if they really wanted to get into your hood, they would break the window to get in...

You will probably end up re-doing that grill a couple of times. The gutter guard or chicken wire (ugly as hell i will post a picture) will bend a lot easier than a stock grill or even a grillcraft grill.... remember you get what you pay for.

Given it was poorly put on and is a disgusting ricer style yellow, i still don't like the way the grill looks, and this is chicken wire... if anything get gutter guard it's more diamond shaped... I'd still get a grillcraft grill or like they said a type r grill.

At one time I was wanting to add the mesh from Grillcraft. The look just wore off and I don't care for it anymore that much. But, I plan to add a grill like jaysi in his sig  ...can you unlatch the hood from the opening? I never thought about that, but seems like it is possible
