do different size wheels really affect the preformance of your car? talking in terms of autocross and canyon craving, not drag racing

well how do they help? will bigger wheels help or hurt? or if you have a low powered engine is it worth the preformance upgrade to get bigger wheels? or just stay stock?

NO although if the overall diameter of the wheel and tire is larger every time your wheel turns 1 time you will have traveled a longer distance in the same amount of time (think slicks on dragsters) however when the the diameter of the wheel is larger most of the time the thickness of the tire is less so the overall diameter of both combined usually stays the same negating any minimal increase you would have seen.

also bigger rims add weight metal rims weigh more than air filled tires
