I have 18x7.5 on my accord and it is lowered. Everytime I hit a bump my rims rub. I'm looking to buy new rims this spring, what should I do to correct this or is there no way?

Better yet, what offset should i go with?

At least +45 (it will be close either way), but I would try to get an even higher offset if you can- that is if you stick with 7.5" width rims. Wider, and you will even need more offset or a bat.

i think for accords it ranges between 35 and 42 or so

18x7.5 on Neuspeed Sports, no rubbing. Only rubbed with 3 people on a deep dip.

would a tire whose dimensions are 225/40x18 on rims (18x8) stick out of the car too much or at all because i dont want that but then again i dont want a 7.5 width either. and if theres no problems how much can i drop it before it would start rubbing?

i have 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 tires on it on my 96 accord and they rub when i go into/out of driveways. like the fender wells on the right side are like curling out...its nasty..oh yeah i'm lowered with skunk 2 coil overs. i'm not sure the inch..but is like a one finger gap all around. yeah they rub...i had to remove the splash shield from both fenders..sucs

Im running 18inch C2 three piece with 215 40 18 Nitto 450 with a neuspeed drop. I think the offest is +42 and i dont rub at all. My friend who has the same rim on his 5th generation with a Suspension Technique drop does rub.

So the higher the offset the better or the other way around?

Higher is better if you don't want to rub. If you have 215 width tires(vs 225 width), you don't need as high offset either.
