Does anyone expect V6 prices to fall soon?

The Accord will be redesigned, with the new ones coming out on September of this year. I'm no expert in purchasing new cars, but for those of you who are, would you expect the price of a 2002 Accord V6 to drop substantially in the few months prior to September for clearance? If so, how much bargain do you think I can get if I took advantage of their clearance?

Nah I don't think so since the dealers won't drop the price much below invoice prices! Why not just get the 7gen AV6???
No, it won't drop too significantly that the dealers will not make a profit. Honda will give the buyer (if he knows this) a rebate because its the last year or because its "last years model" they've always had those. But Iam pretty sure some prices will drop, I am hoping for OEM parts will drop so I can get OEM fogs. If you are planning on purchasing a new AV6 why not buy a 7th gen like what bachviet said? Its practially the same price as a 6th gen just a bit more.
V6 prices

It's kinda hard to say how much the price will drop if any. I know I got my Accord for $22,600.00. Invoice on it is $22,500.00. That was back in Nov. of 99 though.

I understand what you're talking about too against getting a Gen 6 to a 7. There's no gaurantee he's gonna like the Gen 7 Accord. I know around Aug. & Sept. On our lot around the time of a new model to drop people are people are always there trying to see what the next model is gonna look like. If they don't like it they're trying to get a deal on the present model they do like. At this time you're sure to get a killer deal on a car.

It's always best to buy a new car around the last of any month, and towards the end of a car's calender year around August. Most dealerships get some kind of incentive for sells per month. So go in and try to rape them on a new car. :D

hey guys..waiting for "prices to fall" or year end savings is a big SCAM. You could get the same price anytime you just have to work on the dealer. Unless there is a real rebate..but then again..why would you want the old gen car? You are going to feel terrible when the new one comes out and you still have 4 years payments on yours LOL! Good luck!
I HAVE A 2000 AND I KNOW THE MINUTE THE 03 COMES OUT PEOPLE WITH THE 03 ARE GONNA LOOK AT ME THE WAY I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT 5-GEN'S FOR TWO YEARS . (YOUR CAR IS LAST YEARS NEWS GUY)
I doubt the prices will fall, too. My bf got a 2000 V6, and about a year later I purchased my 2001, and it was a couple hundred more, from the same person from the same dealer. And about it going from 6th to 7th gen, that shouldn't make a significant difference either. Before I bought my Accord, I thought I'd look at the Audi A4 because I had the mentality that because it was changing body styles, that the older gen would be cheaper. But I was wrong... they were sooo hard to talk with about pricing. So... if you want a 6th gen now, I'd suggest you buy it now, because it probably wouldn't make too much of a difference in a couple months.

blah , of course its gonna be price drop
it happens to every car when new gen comes out.
but most likely drop in lease interest and stuff.

I couldn't agree more. I bought my 2000 in May of 2000..my car will be only 2 years old (literally) and it will be old news :( when the new ones come out. Hey have you guys seen the new Corolla? You can get LEATHER interior on 'em if you can imagine that!!

I saw one the other day. It's BIG for a Corolla!
The new Toyota Matrix is pretty nice especially the S model (180hp engine from the GT-S) but too bad it's only a front wheel drive model! The lower hp model comes with AWD but only 130 and 135 hp! :D
do u think a 180hps and 130torque
almost around 4000lbs Wagon will be fast?
The Matrix is around 3000lb, not 4000lb. I don't know where you're getting 4k from...

Anyways, as for Accord V6 prices, you'll definitely be able to get some good deals on them come September, or whenever Honda releases the new Accord. Invoice or better I would think. You'll also probably be able to get some *very* attractive financing deals through Honda as well. Not sure about rebates, though.

Personally, I can't wait to see what Honda does to the 03 Accord. :)
oh hehe I was looking at Gross Vehicle weight 3847lbs
I guess yah , the curb weight is 2874lbs

but thats still heavy for 130torque car
it's possible

i bought a 98 accord ex v6 .. in november of 1997.. i paid over 30k. i sold it.. then later in march of 2001 i bought a 01 accord ex v6 and i paid about 26k (this is all including taxes)... but a friend of mine just purchased a 01 accord ex v6 last month and only paid 22k. with taxes. about the new accord coming out. i dont think they look that great in the first place.. but the whole thing with 9-11 osama bin laden.. everything is slow and prices are dropping, it's a good time to purchase a car... or a home.. while the price is low.. but i dont think it'll be a huge difference..
