DOHC F20B VTEC vs. H22 VTEC

I was looking some pic of Japanese Accord SiR and SiR-Ts, and one pic showed an engine with a blue valve cover that had DOHC VTEC plastered on it and "F20B" stamped on the block.
The S2000 supposedly uses an F20, too, but I'm wondering what the difference in performance, design, pros and cons between the F20B and the H22 are...

the f20b has slightly less torque and has to rev higher to make the same power.
the f20b in the accord is a dohc non vtec.....after 96 some of the sir-t's had two different series motors...one was a f20b and the other was an h22a1..before 96 the accords only came with the f20 in japan..in the us they only came with f22a1 sohc non-vtec, f22b1 sohc non vtec and f22b5 sohc vtec. and v4lu3s is right with torque and revs. the f20b was a road course engine that had hier revs and lower torque, this way they minimized whell spin when downshifting out of the corners. in japan all the f and h series motors had dual balance shafts except the h23.

But in this one, they show an F20B that says "DOHC VTEC" on it, and that's why I'm asking...
Doesnt look or sound right...I'll do some more research and get back to you...
I was rubbing my eyes too. It's purdy wierd...also is it possible to convert a USDM Accord front clip to the CF4 front clip?
i am pretty sure the f20b dohc did come in a vtec model...it came in the sir-t accord and put out 200hp...they sell em at www.jdmclub.com as a matter of fact...
Im begining to think your right...im checking up on it though..I could have sworn the f20b was dohc non vtec....
as far as i know the f20a is sohc and ranges in powr from 120-150 depending on the year, while the f20b dohc does 180 or 200 hp depending ont he state of tune.
wow..looks like no1 here knows what theyre talkin about..to clear up everything here are the facts:

The F20B1 is a DOHC VTEC that comes from the 90-93 JDM Accord Si-R and puts out 190hp

The F20B2 puts out 200hp and is a DOHC VTEC from a 94-97 JDM Accord Si-R

The F20C1 is from the S2000, puts out [email protected] and is a DOHC VTEC

The F22A comes from the 93 Accord and is a SOHC non-vtec putting out [email protected]

The F22A1 powers [email protected] is a DOHC non-vtec and comes from 92-96 Prelude S

The F22A4 and A6 are both SOHC non-vtecs and power between 130-140hp, the come from the 90-91 or 92-93 Accord

The F22B is a DOHC non-vtec with [email protected] coming from a 92-96 Prelude Si

The F22B1 has only [email protected], its a SOHC VTEC from the 94-97 Accord EX

The F22B2 comes from the Accord DX/LX and is a SOHC non-vtec powering just [email protected]

The F23A1 is a SOHC VTEC from a 98+ Accord EX/LX or CL (98-99) with 150hp..the A4 has 148hp and the A5 only has 135hp

Dont even get me started on the H-Series motors now haha..hope i could clear everything up.

some buddies of mine were doing a f20b into a 97 accord. it is a dohc vtec engine. alot of peopla say it is and that it isnt a destroked h22 but there are more diffs than displacement. it had been a wiring nightmare putting it into the 97 accord they got the car started and driving but it is still having a few issues. they also had an issue with the tranny i cant remember what it was though. ill see if i can post some more info on the engine.

No your still wrong.

The F20B is a SOHC VTEC that puts out 150hp
F20B is DOHC from Accord SiR-T 1997-2001 Accord CF4. I have an F20b swap.

The F20B1 is a DOHC VTEC that comes from the 90-93 JDM Accord Si-R and puts out 190hp
No such thing as 90-93 Accord Si-R. F20B1 is from 1997-2001 Accord Torneo CF4.

The F20B2 puts out 200hp and is a DOHC VTEC from a 94-97 JDM Accord Si-R
94-97 JDM Accord SiR has H22a in it. F20B2 is from 1997-2001 Accord Torneo CF5.

If you guys want to know the real engine codes go here.

bumpz!!! for good spec's on the f motor
jdm187 yep you know ur stuff looking do a f20b dohc swap soon
<--------just had long ass thread about putting F20B DOHC VTEC into 2002 Accord, and then finished off with douche bags doing poor ass wiring job in it. i got the auto, great for rolling starts but i'm gonna find a 5sp h22 tranny and ecu and make it a 5spd within a year or so. and i'm going to learn more about wiring so i can do it myself, so i don't have to worry about somebody saying they know what they're doing on something they have no clue about and "winging it" on my car. not again

F20B, there are two F20B's exact same name two totally diff motors one sohc in jdm accords during the early 90's and it's numbers are very comparable to the f23a1 which is in current usdm accords, but it's the blue valve cover DOHC VTEC that was designed for jdm accord sir-t and sir. sir-t's were 5spd and made 200 hp, sir's tiptronic automatic with 180hp. the euro r's still recieved the h22a4 or 7 motors during those years, i believe. the blue valve cover DOHC VTEC was specific to japan and some claim the sir to have 200hp, you cant find one website without finding another on the actual hp in the sir. it sure feels like 200hp to me after 5000rpm though.
