this is from the dyno contest at nopi nationals this weekend. i didn't get the chance to tune the cam gears because we only get 3 runs on it. the intake was set to +4 degrees and the exhaust was at -3 degrees.

mods: i/h/e, aem cam gears, and cm 8lb flywheel

i set the cam gears back to 0, 0 and it feels like it pulls better now. got to get it back on the dyno.

for those who are having trouble reading it:

1st run: 145.0 hp, 140.4 ft lb
2nd run: 148.6 hp, 141.8 ft lb
3rd run: 153.4 hp, 144.6 ft lb

for a second i thought you had a VTEC lude, and i was like but looks good for an SI. you'll get a lot more power once youre tuned.

from everything that i've read... cam gears are supposed to be set an equal number of degrees off... no?

like +/- 1,2,3,4 degrees? not offset like that? you may make more if they are set equally...

that's not what i was told. i'm going to play around with it until my butt dyno feels satisfied.

every time i've seen one tuned, or heard of cam gears being tuned, i haven't heard of them being set differently... i dunno...

the runs were back to back to back. i have it on video. my car was cold when it went on so i'm not sure if that could have had an effect on it.

i think it had something to do with the cam gears, but the powerband is definately different between the h23 and h22

obviously you did the run in 3rd gear? just so you know, 3rd gear pulls will show a little better numbers than 4th gear pulls. most dynos use 4th gear because the rpms rise slower and it is able to get more data, especially when used with a wideband o2 sensor.
