Ecu Harness and Splicing

I just put a vtec engine in my cx and need to wire the vtec to the ecu... i am still using the cx harness tho... now the places the vtec wires are supposed to go into on the ecu harness already have wires in there.... would it be ok for me to just splice in the vtec wires into the wires that are already there?
