I have the autometer/JR fuel pressure guage.
I cannot get it to work properly.
I have a 12v switched power to the guage, and the ground and signal wires are connected correctly to the sending unit.
when I start the car there is no reading.

any ideas?

hmm, no ideas. It came with instructions right? You could always call JR tech or send Autometer an email if you don't get any answers here.
