engine boring

had my had planed down .040 i think it was. Idles rough but added some power.

yeah Matt not sure if anyone told you (not trying to sound like a smartass, just not sure if you knew) but it should increase your compression ratio just slightly, that's where the power comes from.

you don't say? I wonder what boring out my engine would do. You'd think I did that on purpose or something.

was there a noticable gain after it was done? you have an F22 SOHC right?

i drove my buddies stock 96 S the other day and was amazed at how much more power mine had over his. As far as the extra power from planing the head, it definately didn't give me like 10 hp or anything. Just a nice addition.

how can you not be sure how much of a bore you have? did you do it or did the person before you?

because i did it about 4 years ago. Forgot the numbers. Sorry for the inconvience.

Having a Head planed and boring an engine are two totally different things.
