I'm in the market for an exhaust system here, but confused on which to get. I don't want one that sounds like a civic lawnmower ( we all know that shitty sound) but a nice deep sound. I don't want it overly loud or obnoxious. I've been recommended to the DC Sports or the Apex'i N1. Let me know what you guys think about them, or if you have any other suggestions

apexi N1 is pretty loud...might not be what your looking for. greddy evo isn't loud...but it rusts pretty bad...not sure what exhaust isn't loud and is good. Honestly I think the mugen is a waste and it hangs low....talk to people who have them. also if you want to gain max HP mugen isn't that best choice. I believe apexi gained a bit more than mugen off their exhaust...also dc sports header gained a bit more than the mugen header.

Talk to people who have mugen twinloop.. One of my friend's prelude buddies has a mugen twinloop, fits perfectly.

I have a mugen twinloop, fits perfectly.

Unless you are going FI 2 1/4 inch diameter is all you'll ever need for piping.

Edit: So.. where did you get this info about DC sports header, and you believe that apexi gained a bit more? Did you really go out and dyno it? If you did, can you post some dynos please? Thanks.

I would personally recommend the oldie but goodie RS*R exhaust.
I LOVE that exhaust. If you can find one, I'd definately say its worth it.
Its not loud at all. Slightly louder than stock at idle. And it has a nice deep growl but doesn't drone either. Its a very subtle exhaust.
People usually can't tell I have an exhaust on until I punch it and fly past them. :D
And its not one of those that make the whole cabin in your car rumble either.
Passengers in my car usually don't notice that I have an exhaust on under normal driving conditions.
(Or at least no one has complained about it!)
You don't have to worry about getting pulled over by cops with this exhaust. It does NOT attract that much attention.
(Which is a good thing in most cases.)

i recommend the greddy PE. its not too loud but it is a rather fartish sound from behind the car...from inside the cabin and in front of the car its not bad at all. the good part about the exhaust is it makes very good midrange power...most exhausts are only noticeable above ~4000 rpms but you can feel the PE at 1500. i can take real tight turns in 3rd gear and come out of the turn at 2000 rpms and the engine doesnt feel like its bogging at all.

The Greddy Power extreme is good...the muffler is a perfect fit for the 4th gen....the tip is not too big as that of a Dunk Megaphone exhaust....it sounds great, deep and throaty...and the gains are there as well....i recommend it....what ever u do don't get thermal...they are louder than mopeds..
