In my opinion u should get a cat back cuz
a) it looks better
b) sounds better (in my opinion)
c) and other reasons that im too tired to think of right now

But since ur not gonna turbo it u dont have to get the full cat back. But jus to let u know back in the day when I went from custom / weld on to a full cat back it sounded alot better and I felt like I got more HP and more pull (nothing too significant of course - but noticible)

If u can afford the cat back, go 4 it. If u cant - u can get away with the custom / weld on.

:D :D :D :) :D  :D ;) :p

Acually I jus read that u'll acually loose HP with a cat back cuz u'll loose too much back pressure, unless ur boosting - which ur not.
Maybe someone else who knows more can add on.

Just get either an actual 2.25'' cat-back system(Greddy, Apex'i, Tanabe, DCsports, etc..) or a custom piped with universal muffler 2.25'' cat-back system from a muffler shop. A Greddy, etc.. system will flow a lil better cause it is straight through exhaust piping. You may or may not get a horse or two from it. I personally would go with a Major brand name exhaust do the research and testing they do, and the fact that the guy making the exhaust at the muffler shop may not give two shits about you and just throw the thing together.

Get a catback, it looks and sounds a lot better than any weld on can. Cat backs don't sound tinny like you would get it you just welded on an axel back. I love my tanabe rm it flows nice with the i\h you can really notice a better pull up on the top end. When I got my exhaust on I didn't notice any power loss in the low end. So if you do lose some hp it can't be that much if any at all.

I have a custom cat-back that ran me $225 w/ a Magnaflow muffler. The sound is ok, louder in the car than outside (if that makes sense). That is what my brother told me. I heard that since my piping is not stainless it will eventually rust.

At the time I thought a cat-back was an axel back. Yeah, I thought the resonator was the cat :p So, I was like $500 for that little bit or replacement  Come to find out the cat is up by the headers :(

To make this short: I wish I would of went with a real cat-back.
I believe they come with like 1,000,000 mile warranty against defects and rust and $hit like that!!

You get what you pay for!!
