i am just got my civic and im kinda new to all these mods and stuff. I was wondering what is a good muffler that will be under 200 bucks? I dont care so much about power i just want something really loud ive read a few posts and it looks like tanabe is loud and rm and obx? how are those and how much do they run? also what are some good websites to buy performance stuff? I have been told that the universal mufflers will sound like shit.

Get a Cat Back exhaust 5 Zigen Fireball! Look around on Ebay they usually have pretty good deals. But its more then 200.00
you make me sick .. no offense .. why would you get a muffler based on the fact that its loud .. being the loudest "pork and beans" racer out there gets you laughed at by EVERYONE , i hate it when i see racers with loud exhausts.. its just the worst thing to do to your car .. besides of course the "Pep Boys Race Mods" .. and if you wanna get a muffler ,.. you can get them for under 200, any style of any brand .. if you look around .. then get a 2.25 in pipe custom made from a muffler shop and you will have a cat back for under 300 bucks or so ..
Any N1 style muffler is going to be loud. Seriously though, and I am not flaming you...I had a 95EX before my Si, it had a loud exhaust. Trust me when I tell you this, it gets extremely annoying having a loud exhaust.

Save your 200bucs, and put it towards a nice sounding cat back exhaust. Get one that will sound nice, and at the same time give you some gains.

Ha ha ha ha ha

Try visiting my town man!!! My sister straight piped her muffler, and put a tip on it just to make it loud. I think it's the cool thing to do at my old high school now adays. Back in my day, it was throwing water balloons at the school busses, aiming for the open windows, and running like hell!!!
I have a Matrix axle-back exhaust and I love it. It has a smooth, deep tone that progresses nicely through powerband. I got it through Summit Racing (their import catalog) for 217 shipped. Also, another one to check out that is a little over 200 is the 5Zigen Fireball like CanCivic suggested but you'd be getting the axle-back for around 200.
but dont you think you would get more power if you added a peice from the cat to the axle instead of using the stock "coffee straw" piping. did you notice any power gains from the axle back, or was it all mental?
