h22 is too much for me to afford now, im saving for an S2000, but i really need my car to be a little faster. If i went with a new cam, ecu, and a cai, would that make an increase in power that i would acually be able to feel the difference?
btw, its a 1991 accord, 125hp i think
Thanx!!

oh yea, what kind of cam too, im looking for an extra 15-25 hp

save your money, its probably just not worth it
Not even worth trying getting more power out of the engine. No matter what it'll be weak. I have a F22 in my Prelude and I just bought an CAI, Header and Exhaust to relieve some stress off from the engine. Want to try and get 500,000 out of it before I place a fully rebuilt H22 in...

yeah im pretty sure you'll feel the difference...and aem cam would do fine..it should add up to 10 hp if you adjust it right..but if i were you..i'd just save the money so you can get the s2000 a little earlir..:D
The problem is finding a good camshaft. Gude makes one, but I havent herd many people say that they like them very much. Id just go with teh normal i/h/e/pp that should be enough to satisfy your needs until you get your s2000.
Actually the F22 engine is VERY under tuned and a good camshaft and some bolt ons make a lot of vary real hp. I had a f22 lude for awhile and droppped .5 seconds of my 1/4 mile time with just a intake and exhaust and AEM underdrive pulleys. Try that with a D or B series motor!
get your cam reground. u can have anything from mild to wild which would do wonders knowing that the stock cam dies off at like 5k. get a cam, larget TB, ported intake man, light wieght flywheel, and fuel upgrades and i wouldn't be surprised if u put 140-150hp to the ground. The only weakness i find with the F22 is the 8.8:1 stock compression ratio which may hurt the cams potential.
Do you know anyone who regrinds cams other than gude?? If you know of anyone could you let me know. JG Engine dynamic has 3 stages fo headwork that they can do to the F engine which looks promising.
I got the Gude/bullfrog camshaft from ardperformance.com about a year ago... there are ofcourse pro's and con's...

pro: The car feels stronger up top, it will make power all the way up to 7,000 rpm's, to where it seemed to run out of breath when stock.. it's improved my quarter time with nitrous, but my quarter mile did not change at all when all motor because of the lack of bottom end power i lost, (mine is automatic) but made up the difference up top.

con: lost bottom end power, idle's a little rougher although does sound good with my deep exhaust note. :D

conclusion= if you want your car to be stronger up top and loose some bottom-end then go for it,,,, BUT it is not a day and night difference,,, and at $500 after install, i think money could be spent for something else that would give better gains....

I thought H22s were going cheap now. I just got a 98 for $1,900 shipped. Gonna put it in my hatchback.:D

8.8:1?

hmm.... turbo?
how good would this engine hold up to, say, 6psi?
'91 with almost 50k miles :D
6psi would be nothing for this motor.

My shop can get grinds for most NON VTEC honda camshafts.
you can call: 510-324-5520 for more details
Go to http://www.delta.com. If you're really serious about getting a camshaft, get the "272" grind from them. I have i/e/c. I feel a hell of a difference with mine. It pulls hard well into redline.
holy back from the dead post?!

If new information is available...wouldn't it help people that are searching for the topic in the future?

Geez... you just can't win I guess...

Actually... Delta has been around alot longer than a couple years...

It's just they haven't been too well known in accord and F series circles for more than a year or two...

and I know this for fact... :idiots

edit:perhaps you could try and be a little MORE patronizing and condescending in your next post UM? I don't know if it is possible...but worth a try I spose...
