So I have been using FireFox for some time now... but I must say I dont like it. Its supposed to be faster, but its not. I constantly have to re-fresh a page or click links twice to get it to finally do something. Anyone else have this problem? Only thing I like so far is that it remembers usernames and passwords to places that dont have it as an option... other than that I find it rather annoying...

it works fine for me. i don't notice it being any faster than IE. then again i never had problems with IE's proness to spyware/adware. you can try downloading the "fasterfox" extension. does IE have the same lag problems? sounds like it might be a connection problem maybe?

Nope no problems with IE. I have come across a few people who dont like FF because they think its slower but they never said anything about having to re-click stuff so...

firefox is awesome. tabs save so much space on the bottom of the screen if you get what i mean. and also the shortcut buttons are awesome, saves so much time

i also like how all the extensions and plugins are so readily available

The best part about firefox is that you can set it up how YOU like it. With IE the customization is extremely limited. With firefox the customization is amazing, especially when you start getting into extenstions and stuff like that. When I first started using firefox a long time ago it took me a month or so to get it set up the way I liked but now that I have everything the way I like I could never change. I just got done doing a fresh format and I actually had to use IE for a few minutes and I thought I was going to pull my hair out. My only complaint is that firefox uses too much ram.

as far as the program itself.. firefox is slower, as far as loading pages i dont think either is faster than the other when it comes to pages you havent been to, but the reason IE is faster loading up the actual program is because its integrated into windows so most of the processes it uses it are already started. when it come to pages you already been too.. firefox is faster because of its caching system like was said before

i personally love the way firefox works because of the tabs, the way you can customize it to your liking and have different extensions and themes, and the best is no active x!! which is what a lot of spyware uses to install itself. i give firefox a 9/10 and i give IE 3/10

just my opinion though

another cool feature about the tabs is that you can bookmark them all at once. i especially like the adblock extension, just right click anything you dont like and block it.

Make your mozilla run faster...

Now, in the Address bar type

about:config

You will see a whole load of options (reminds me of Regedit) Change the following values as stated:

network.http.max-connections = 64
network.http.max-connections-per-server= 20
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server= 10
network.http.pipelining = true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 100 or 200 (choose one)
nglayout.initialpaint.delay = 0
network.http.request.max-start-delay = 0

If nglayout.initialpaint.delay doesnt exist, Right click, new integer.

Optional:
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy = 10
network.http.proxy.pipelining = true
network.http.proxy.version = 1.0

Close mozilla and start it again. .. Enjoy!

Shhhhhh!!!! Don't ask them to use common sense. Usually the ones who find Firefox faster are the people who have a pc that is so loaded by spyware IE either won't work any more or it's rediculously slow. They treat the symptom not the problem by using Firefox. :number1
