Fixing 98 Civic Ex-R

Was up people. Just wanted some advice! I´m rolling some stuff into my 98 Civic. The car plays with a SOHC V Tech Engine and I am thinking of adapting a new exhaust system. I was also thinking in the Wepon R Intakes and Ram Air kit as well as a new throttle rotor. What do you guys think? Finally I am thinking of changing wheels and tires, too mm,, let´s say 17´. I was also thinking of adding the A´PEXI V-AFC to controll sevral stuff including the V-Tech. Have any better suggestions? A´m thinking in spending like 2 k. So, what you think.? :p

i wouldn't mess with bolt ons on a SOHC, just get a turbo. do that or swap a DOHC in.
I agree with bertg16. But a turbo or swap may not be realistic in Mexico. It also depends on if you want to spend all your money on go and no show. Check out some of the reader rides and see what you can find for ideas. It all depends on what "you" want.

What do I need to do to make it DOHC? I´m taking care of the show with wheels and tires as well as a new bumper Xenon type.
DOHC is double overhead cam. you need to swap in an engine from an integra or si. they have more power and are a better base to work with to add power.
Hey guys dont bother swapping. SOHC's have lots of potential, for exhaust I got a 5 Zigen Fireball and its great.
ummm do you mean vtec......sorry just a thing that really bothers me..... when people spell that shit wrong ....no hard feelings. but sohc not worth it swap it man swap it good.

 Sorry about the V Tec thing there!(Need to practice my Honda Terminology a bit more;)) But I think that swaping is to much. I was just willing to bring out the best out of the already existeng engine!
I think it really depends on what you want to do with your car. Hell, you can roll with a DX in autox if you are a good driver and you work the suspension. Drag, that you'd need a better engine if you want to dominate on the street. To rule the drag you'd need a better engine, H22 (Prelude) ... But just think, if you don't buy a new engine you won't have to spend the extra cash for it.

Or you can just pimp out your ride and put a $7000 stearo/tv/dvd/game concole system in your custom interior ride.
Hi yeah if you can afford a swap then do it but a 1998 Civic still fairly new do what im doing and do all that I can with my engine like Headers, Exhaust, Intake, Pulleys, Cam or go for looks. And SOHC vtecs do have lots of potential!!!!!:D
if you want to make it fast with the sohc motor it is totally possible - decide if you want to spend the money on a motor swap or turbo setup - motor swaps can cost a lot but have great results - if you stay sohc and want a turbo down the road, look at an exhaust with a big diameter (Apex or custom(2 1/2 to 3") - if you are swapping motors, go for a Spoon or a Mugen exhaust
