This is kinda old, but just incase for those that dunno about it. It came out in late 2000, early 2001 as a concept by Ford. The Boss Mustang has a 10L 90 degree V8. It shoots out 855 bhp and 790 ft lbs of tq. The gear box is a CB 3-Speed Manual. I have no idea what this is, I checked the net, but couldn't find anything, if anyone knows, post some info please. Dunno if this is track only, but regardless here's the numbers.

0-60 1.9 Seconds
0-100 5.5 Seconds
Quarter Mile: 10.55 Seconds @ 135 mph

dumb domestics. Why do they think you need a 10L motor to make that kinda power? I mean...overseas there are 1000+ hp skylines, rx-7, and supras...And many of these can be daily drivers. A 10L mustang, i dont think many people would want to get that, especially since it would get around 4-5 mpg...IDIOTS ! Dont you think a turbocharged 4.6 L could make that amt of power...i do

They don't in Naturally aspirated form. All the cars you've mentioned are using forced induction, this is all motor. Pure muscle. 10L or not, 855 horses and 790 lb-ft of Tq on motor alone is impressive. When it comes to N/A power, there is no replacement for displacement.

ok....but why would u want to make that kinda power from a 10L motor? I mean...there's no way, i mean, absolutely no way, you can get anything more than 5 mpg on that. If people thought that the 6-7 mpg on a Viper RT/10 was bad...lets not speak of this. Being able to increase n' decrease boost, allowing for more streetability, will always be my method of choice rather than going for displacement.
Check out formula 1, i know this is a bad example n' all cuz this is a pure race engine:
-maximum of 3L
-most running v-10s
-most making 850+ hp in, NA form

hehe, and reving to 17,800 rpms in qualifying engines

Well, some people just don't care about gas mileage in a "performance" car. A car like that obviously won't be a daily driver. Look at the italian exotics. Single digit mpg readings, and that's with everyday driving. Floor that shit and watch them hit less then 5mpg. It's not displacement alone. Any high powered car will suck fuel. Look at the current chevy 5.7L ls-1/ls-6 and compare it to some of the other 300+ hp cars. Name one that can beat it's mpg average. There is none. I was looking through an old stang mag of mine and saw the window sticker for an 87 Lx 5.0 5spd. 23 city mpg and 34 highway mpg. Not bad for a 5.0L dinosaur from 14 years ago.

Plus, companies like Gm have got that displacement on demand tech down. That allows the car to run under 6 or even 4 cylinder mode under normal driving and back to v8 mode under full throttle. Power and economy. I wouldn't be surprised to see that show up on some of their cars. 25+ city mpg and 32+ highway mpg could be achievable.
