I know it's somewhat off-topic, but if you are going to post pictures of the seats, how about the car? If you have an image handy, please put it up; I'm interested in seeing it. It's not every day one gets to see a 72 3.0 CSI in great condition. But then again, it's not everyday that anyone on this site has lived long enough to remember what that looks like.
About the harness......... you do know that you cant just slap them onto a pair of seats, right? They're supposed to strap behind your seat onto a roll cage, or something solid of the nature....
Hey, I ride with a moose in the back (it helps prevent understeer) and I was wondering, can I just strap the harness around him? He is solid nature.
In all seriousness though, let me add something to what you were saying:
This solid structure, to which one will strap the harness, should be at least shoulder height, NOT LOWER. We don't want anyone crushing his spine because he attached the harness to his speaker box or something just as rigged.
You "COULD" mount the harness about 5-8" below sholderheight - that´s how MOST racecars have it.
Or you could mount them at the rear standard 3-piont belts upper bolt (if you know what I mean)
Or you could get an rear strut brace & attach it as it should be attached & then mount the belts to the strutbrace.
Sincerely/
Kristian
Or you could go all out & get an complete rollcage.
did i give the right name for the "strutbar" ?
I´m not sure it´s called that in english. ?
.. but it is mounted between the rear two
upper suspensionmounts.
Kristian, have you ever seen what those strut bars can look like after an accident? Letters of the alphabet is the correct answer. I would not trust my life to something so flexible.
i know how to mount a 4 pt harness belt in a 92-95 civic hatchback but in a rex i dunno. i figure when i get mine its going to be partly attached to my roll cage and to other bolts around the seat
