FPR Rich or Lean

i have the same set up. the stock FPR is 44psi. i tried to raise it up to 52 psi, 50 psi and 48 psi, but it turned out kind of running rich, and losing about 30mpg. so i decided to lower to 42 psi and 40 psi. and it ran fine and smoother. U can try it as my set up, and see what happen. or u can drive it to 7000 rpm in 2 gear and then shitf it to 3 all the way to red line, and listen to your engine sound (on the freeway i suppose); u should hear & feel vtec deep and steadily rising, not loud; and if too loud, u r running rich or lean. good luck and let me know the outcome.

my friend also has one & he sets it around -3% from 1000 rpm - 4000 rpm; 0 at 5000, +2% at 6000, +4% at 7000, & +4% at 8000; and vtec point at 5200 rpm. FPR on his GSR is around 46 psi. i think this may help u.

every car is different and tuning the apex controller SHOULD and ONLY be done on a dyno...copying numbers from another car can actually do harm to yours.

And set the FPR to stock spec...a FPR is only used when tuning the fuel maps when done on a dyno

i agree with u on that, but i just try to give him some idea. by the way, whatz your ride. u seem to know a lot, id like to get some advice from u.
I used to have a N/A ls/vtec setup....than I moved over to a built b18b setup, waiting for a turbo setup soon.

i was planning to buy the aem fuel regulator. will that alone give me horsepower or do i need anything else with it?
Adjusting the fuel PSI should only be done on a fairly modified car car where fuel adjustment is needed. Say for instance, I would only adj. the PSI with a motor setup of either cams, p/p head, etc. You get the idea...buying a FPR is worthless if it is not needed

Good Luck

i finally got the Regulator and the fuel presure Gauge...
before adding the regulator n' adjusting the fuel PSI, my car was running at 35 psi (exact), personally that was too low, i adjusted it to 45 PSI after adding the regulator.

i will be getting a Port/polish VERY soon.

ON MY CAR, I HAVE A ZC ENGINE AND A B&M ADJUSTABLE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR AND STOCK IS 32 PSI AND I RAISED IT TO 40 PSI, AND MY CAR SEEMS TO RUN A LITTLE BIT RICH AND WASTES A LITTLE BIT MORE GAS, CHECK YOUR SPARK PLUGS, AND IT'LL TELL YOU IF YOU'RE RUNNING REALLY RICH. RICH IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN LEAN.
