you need to relieve fuel pressure first.
1. disconnect neg batter connector.
2.remove the fuel filler cap.
3.use a 12mm wrench to loosen banjo bolt from top of filter, hold filter with another wrench.
4.use a towel to soak and fuel that might leak.
5.slowly unscrew bolt on turn. dont forget to replace that washer.
then on to remove fuel pump
1. with battery still disconnected. open fuel fill cap in back of car to relieve tank pressure.
2.remove rear seat. remove access panel.
3.unplug electric control to pump.
4.remove pump mounting bolts and nuts. then remove pump from tank.
5.reverse this procedure to reinstall a new pump.
its in the gas tank, but it depends what year make and model car you have to get it out. Why do people post questions and not even tell us anything about the car???Atleast put it in your profile incase you forget to say what cwar you have.
well, this is the integra forum, and the directions and procedures are pretty generic for most hondas. im pretty sure chilton uses most of the same instructions for the integra, TL and RL. and if it dont work for him, tough noogies for not being clear.
Thats good, didn't know that I don't check that stuff too often. Fuel pump is under the rear seats though on all integras/civics, however if its a 94+ Integra you don't have to drop the tank there is an access panel. However I'd check fuel pressure first and check for voltage at the fuel pump relay and all related circuitry to the fuel pump before you condemn the fuel pump and pull it out. Also you should turn the key just to the run position before the engine would crank and you should hear the pump energize for 2 seconds or so to build pressure. But have you run the car under a 1/2 tank of gas for a long time because when you do that it can be starving the pump and nothing kills a pump faster than running it dry.
