I recently put a new motor in my 1989 civic dx and now my fuel pump will not run when i turn on the key. I was told that a fuse or a sensor was gone and that it is somewhere behind the dash but i have no idea.Any help on this would be great.
the pump relay is the dash on the drivers side of the car. it's pretty big and I think it's bolted to the left of the car. when you turn the key to on NOT start you typically here the pump run for 2 secs, but since your pump is not running at all, stick your head under the dash and listen for the relay to 'click' when you turn on the key. if it doesn't click then its not getting power. if it does then its getting power, but you may have an open wire between it and the pump. try to find a wiring diagram in the back of a shop manual (Chilton, Haynes, etc) although, it could be a blown fuse in your underhood fuse block
