What do these things usually run? ...Are there any knock-offs?

This one is on Ebay and I am debating on bidding or not.

It's at $40.50 + $10 shipping right now.
Said to be a Typr R grill. Is this the real deal or a knock-off?

will run you about $160+s/h, but they only come in the colors of the R, and green ain't one of them. its JDM you always pay more for the real deal.

Do you have the guy's address you bought it from?
Is the mesh hard plastic or metal?

Does APC make these grills? ...I hate APC, but willing to give them a shot with the grill if it is not to much. I know Pep Boys sell APC and have a good return policy if I did not like it or did not fit right. That's if APC makes it and you don't have that guys address.

APC makes one for the 96-98 Civic.. It runs about $90 (I think) at Pepboys.. It has metal mesh though, not plastic honeycomb.. Also make sure whatever one you end up getting is specifically made for the 96-98 Civic. The 99-00 grill will not fit, which is why you cannot put an Si grill on your car..

I don't even know if I want metal mesh. Just doesn't look the same. And for $90 (if that is right), APC can shove it up their a$$ sideways!!

I was checking the guys old feedback to see what all he has sold. Here is a 99-00 Type R grill he sold:

I definitely do NOT care for that mesh and the fact it's silver.
I'm writing him to ask if the one up top is plastic mesh or metal.

That's not an OEM Type R grill then.. The real ones are hollow, or have black plastic honeycomb (like the 99-00 Si)

Anyhow, I thought the JDM grill was plastic honeycomb type stuff, but I just was reading the ad for it and it's metal.

I may jump on the generic one off ebay

I am going to ask him if the mesh is steel (won't bend or rust) and if it looks exactly like the first pic. I also need to find out if it is painted black or just black material. I can leave it for now if it is painted black, but not sure if the material is just black.
