Man that sucks! I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I had the money to go turbo.
Unfortunately JG Denies ever selling it, so they pretty much dicked me with the cost. Makes me glad I wasn't the one to spend the initial cost of everything. I bought the car with the built motor etc..had only 1000 miles on the new engine from JG. 2 weeks later all this happened. Car sounded fine when I bought it. if I had I would have 15,000 just in modifications. bought the car for 18,000, put 4,500 in it. Still a good deal, but still pisses me off. Has 20,000 on the car itself.4bidden said:hopefully you didnt have to pay that $4500? im guessing not since you had a smiley at the end of your post....lol
I don't know about other states, but in Florida the motor rebuilder has to give 90days warrenty on motors they rebuild. JG, I have heard many people have problems with them. They were good tho. key word "were".TrboH22 said:

The block came directly from JG in California. It was purchased from Javier (owner of JG). They told me no warranty, because it was a performance block, but then said they'd help me out on parts, but then said we have no proof of you buying it from us. They Hosed my ass.dangerzone said:

Haha, sorry.. Man I wouldn't drive it if that was happening.TurboNOSlude said:my car smokes like a bitch- worst of all... oil shoots out the exhaust... got it all over the damn bumper.
I have a thought. Have you driven a turbo lude? If not, I suggest you do. I own one... I will pay any cost, fix any part, and becasue I do, I will beat almost any car. I would have NO problems beating a WS6.... especially on the highway. Look at the cars I've beaten with a blown motor.lOOkatme said:Honestly....I wouldn't want a lude with a turbo. it just screams I need money to the owner....wait you will run into a ton of problems through out the cars life...tranny turbo clutch just everything. constent tuning. You may beat a stock WS 6...but you will have a hard time doing it. traction and handeling will never compare to a rwd car...period.
I was riding back roads in my prelude slammed and all my car wants to do is snow plow turns...rear end won't get loose really. the rx7 R1 I was with just leaves me in turns.
prelude are nothing like RWD cars....
MAN THAT SUCK.. GO BACK TO THE OWNER AND COMPLAIN... HOPE THEY WILL REPLACE SOME OF THE PARTS FOR U....OR GET U A BIG DISCOUNTS..TrboH22 said:Hey everyone this is VtecLude. Changed the name so it wasn't so much like Vtec Lude's. Anyways My new car that I bought. (JG Motor, JE pistons, Garrett t3/t4 turbo...blah blah blah check my sig for the rest). Well anyways I was driving around, and heard a ticking sound, I adjusted the valves and that didn't fix it. A couple days later the ticking turned into a violent knocking sound. Towed to an import shop called PFI in Fort Collins Colorado (a couple hours away), and they tore her apart and turns out that when JG Built the short block, they didn't leave enough bearing clearance, so the crank was starved of oil, and it spun a bearing. It trashed the Crank, the Rods, and all the little bits of metal flowing through my engine ruined the ball bearings in my turbo. My first estimate was $3410.00 without doing the turbo because they didn't know it was trashed. They sent my turbo off found out it was bad, and so 650 to fix it or a little over a grand to replace it with turbonetics new T60-1. the T60-1 of course flows ten times more air than a standard t3/t4, so I opted for that. Should have my car back this weekend (I hope). New total $4500.00 It's been 5 weeks now. Will post the pics soon.'
I agreedTrboH22 said:my first kill will defiantely be a 1999 WS6 Transam Ram-Air.
His dad was talking trash about my car saying his sons car would smoke my little "honda". Hondas arn't the fastest, it takes a ton of cash to build em up, but when you do get it where you want it, theres no greater feeling than ripping up a V8.

Untill you drive a turbo lude.... (especially one tuned as well as mine was) You have no idea. Other Turbo guys will agree with me... it's one of the greatest things in the world.
As you'll see... turbo bites you and gets holds you and won't let go. I can't wait to turn up the boost.
15PSI here I come!
