Hey everyone this is VtecLude. Changed the name so it wasn't so much like Vtec Lude's. Anyways My new car that I bought. (JG Motor, JE pistons, Garrett t3/t4 turbo...blah blah blah check my sig for the rest). Well anyways I was driving around, and heard a ticking sound, I adjusted the valves and that didn't fix it. A couple days later the ticking turned into a violent knocking sound. Towed to an import shop called PFI in Fort Collins Colorado (a couple hours away), and they tore her apart and turns out that when JG Built the short block, they didn't leave enough bearing clearance, so the crank was starved of oil, and it spun a bearing. It trashed the Crank, the Rods, and all the little bits of metal flowing through my engine ruined the ball bearings in my turbo. My first estimate was $3410.00 without doing the turbo because they didn't know it was trashed. They sent my turbo off found out it was bad, and so 650 to fix it or a little over a grand to replace it with turbonetics new T60-1. the T60-1 of course flows ten times more air than a standard t3/t4, so I opted for that. Should have my car back this weekend (I hope). New total $4500.00 It's been 5 weeks now. Will post the pics soon.
