What is the stuff that is used inside the shift know to make it able to be screwed onto the shifter? Because I have a new shift knob but it does not have the stuff inside to like you know to be able to screw on.... I tried silicon but that stuff still lets it have movement which I do not want.

A lot of them come with little plastic tube things that thread themself while you turn and push down. And some other knobs have bolts that you screw the knob onto the shift lever with.

Use an M10 jam nut and your knob will not spin...

use some electrical tape and wrap it backwards and put the knob over it. the tape would soon melt from heat and hold it pretty tight.
