its been my experience that dsm owners will call their cars stock if it has stock internals, so an upgraded turbo and intercooler is stock to them cause they havnt torn down the block and built it, needless to say......i hate most dsm owners

Well it happened. I was crusing down rte 1 here in NJ with my GSR all happy that its finally running the way it should. Well out of nowhere this riced out talon pulls up next to me and starts revving. I dont know why, my car looks 100% stock. Anyways then light turns green and a Launch and stay with him for most of third, speedshift second then he starts pulling on me like I was towing a house. We pull up to the next light and I gave him thumbs up. Then I asked him about his mods, he said he was all stock except for air filter and exhaust....hmmm..me thinks he had more then that...

Didnt they make some talons back in the day that are all wheel drive dohc with a turbo??? I know that some domestic company made a car with that listed above I thought it was a talon I might be mistaken.
Yes, the talon is made by Eagle, a subsidary of Chrysler. All DSMs include: Talon, Eclipse, and the old Laser(1st gen). This one for sure was turbocharged as I saw the TSI emblem on back. I actually dont mind the DSMs, they have great potential to make power for little money. I just wouldnt trust it as a daily driver. Plus theyre super uncomfortable to drive, especially on long trips.
Too bad for them that when they made them the market was not really asking for them. If they rereleased the AWD dohc turbo today they probably sell many more of them Cause Us younger generations love them sport compacts. SO if you barely got beat by a awd turbo dohc I guess thats that bad ya know. At least it was a really quick car and its not just you. I mean you have a gsr its not liek those are slow. Trust me I drive a auto accord. Now thats slow
dsm sucks because of there transmisson if i'm right about them. Plus i hate dsm because of what you say, riding around revving and all, until a honda guy like me races them and kills one. But soon have a vr-4 so i have two project cars.

Awesome, Im from Edison. Anyways, yes that DSM KILLED me. I actually don't mind those cars. They have plenty more potential then my car out of the box and are inexpensive. You're right, GSRs arent as slow as auto accords, but they certainly arent much better...To this day Ive only won one race, and it was against a civic.
was that dsm a dark green color? with high ass aluminum double deck wing? i remember seeing this kid, he had a dark green color dsm , huge wing, like focal rims or same style, with like neon orange stickers all around. i dunno if u know Park's market (i thnk now called Hong Kong supermarket) on rt18, well that kid i was describing works at the cell phone store there and i see that shit all the time there. thas the only riced out dsm i seen around lately.

Ehh, not really. If Im going to spend big $$$ on turbos and what not Id rather do it on a car that will perform. Im sick of spending money on this car. With the 3Gs I put in this car I couldve had a DSM in the LOW 12s by now. Or I couldve had a new GT or Cobra in the 11s. I want to find a car that I will ENJOY more. I've been looking at RX7s again, but they're still hovering well into the 20,000 range for an almost 10 yr old car. I think I may go for a Cobra. Civics, Accords, and GSRs all suck ass. They are slow. None of them can compare to true American muscle. Most Honda "racers" slap a fart can on the back and think they can hang. Just because it says Eagle or Plymouth on it, it's still a DSM so it was made in conjunction with Mitsubishi and the only differences are in the body. The drivetrain is all Japanese designed...way to join just to bring up a 5 year old thread by the way :rolleyes

NP, Everyone is new at some point. I think Honda, Toyota, and nissan are the new domestics. All those so called american cars are built in mexico or canada or some third world country where the people work for 50 cents/hr.:bash
