im planning on buying a greddy turbo kit for my 00 civic si (b16) however i can keep the cost down by going with the type 31 IC, but the type 24 is larger and I assume bigger. however with the type 24 partly mounted behing the bumper support, i kind of figure it makes that much of the intercooler useless. I dont plan on running mad boost. I have no intentions of turning this car into a racer, but want a little more muscle. my question is under what circumstances does should one choose the type 31 over the type 24 greddy FMIC???

I'd say choose the type 31. I have it and it does its job plus it looks great. The type 24 is the same width, just taller. Plus I hear you really have to chop up your bumper to make it fit. Also, bigger intercoolers cause boost drop. But you could always up the boost to compensate for it I guess.

Or you could always save more money and make your own :D

i think in the end i'm going to end up going with the type 31, i've read that the larger intercoolers do have a larger pressure drop
