I just got a 2001 gsr motor put into my del sol. The problem is the valve cover barley touches the hood. Is there a problem, it is not bad enough to worry about and I can just cut the hood supports and it would be fine. But is there anything wrong with the install.

I´ve seen them done and even in civics there is a minimal hood clearence, as long as they dont bang against each other then you dont have a problem

They don't hit hard and the hood shuts fine, but they do touch. Thanks for the reply.

This is normal. My JDM B16A, which has the same deck height as a B18C, also touches the hood.

Thats weird... I know someone with the same swap and I think he has a little more clearance... <shrug>

yea i didn't expect it either, but since it happened i guess i will just deal with it. Does anyone make a hood with a raised center, pics would be helpful.

get a hood with a "muscle bulge" on it

the only one i can think of off the top of my head is the black widow hood:

i'm sure there's other different styles but i don't have time to look right now.

kaminari only has the hump in the middle. that would kill the point becuase the sides of the top of the engine would still touch.

i think i may just stick with my plan to cut the hood supports. They are not that important, and that would solve the problem.
