this topic is actually active on another forum, but i figure i'd bring it here to see what you guys think about it. so yeah...an h22 or h23 transmission on an f22 motor. i've calculated the upshift landing points and the mph at shifting points. this is assuming the tire diameter is about 25", which is stock profile of 185/65/15, 205/50/17, etc. looking at a few nearly stock dynos, the f22 seems to peak at around 4625, but is nearly a flat torque curve elsewhere. yes i know the h22 transmission is made for the h22 and if you used an h22 engine, you would yield better results. but would an h22 /H23 transmission on an f22 be better than a stock f22? and most people seem to agree that the h22 tranny will bolt up to the f22 no problem, but if anyone has knowledge that it won't, that would be helpful to know.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
H22 tranny on F22 (mph)

1st 6200 --> 2nd @ 33.5
2nd 6200 --> 3rd @ 56.8
3rd 6200 --> 4th @ 81.5
4th 6200 --> 5th @ 103.5
5th @ 6200 --> 127.4

upshift landing points @6200 (rpm)

2nd --> 3652
3rd --> 4324
4th --> 4877
5th --> 5041

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

H23 tranny on F22 (mph)

1st 6200 --> 2nd @ 32.6
2nd 6200 --> 3rd @ 58.0
3rd 6200 --> 4th @ 81.8
4th 6200 --> 5th @ 104.8
5th @ 6200 --> 133.3

upshift @6200 (rpm)

2nd --> 3483
3rd --> 4400
4th --> 4837
5th --> 4875

becuase of the closer gears you will seem to accelerate faster but in all honesty peak power i doubt will rise any, also it will cost you some gas miliage cause you will fun in a high rpm on the highways

Yes and I have also been told/heard that the h22 tranny on the f22 can cause some issues as well. H23 tranny ive heard can be used without much a hitch tho.
Fitting yes it will work, how reliably the h22 tranny will work on the f series...........i dunno hahhhh h23 should have no issues tho

5th gear going 65 mph you'll be at 3000 rpm with the h23 tranny, so no. but thats the lowest rpm at that speed.

h22 tranny

i have the h22 tranny on my f22b1 motor, alot better and somewat faster acceleration, in any gear. 3rd gear is nuts and 5th gear pulls nice and fast upto redline, or just under 200km/h. i/h/e/vacf and spoon rims also help my setup along with removed A/C and p/s.

How about this? If you have an auto and H22, what would be the best tranny (auto) for it? H22, H23, or f22?

h22

obviously the h22 auto would since it is built to handle more power from the factory instead of the h23 or f22 which is built to handle less power and abuse. an owner of an h22 prelude will be alot more aggressive then an owner of an h23 prelude or an f22 accord.

Exactly why I think it would be so much cooler to build mine up and make it perform. After all, it's an Accord and not really supposed to be a sports car. I think an auto that can hold it's own on the street is much cooler than everyone with a stick shifting their butts off and burning clutches.

whats up thread jacker...haha, j/k well the h22 tranny will bring down more power to the wheels, whats why i was wondering if an h22 tranny on an f22 would be plausible. going the other way around would give less power than you could get with the h22 transmission.
