does anyone know what the bore is on the H23?

It is 3.425 for the H22. I would imagine it would be slightly larger considering the increased displacement from 2157cc to 2259cc in the H23. Let me see if I can track it down.....
im sure this has been asked before , i was just wondering, is there a way to make the h23 vtec? installing vtec camshafts and whatever else is needed. With the extra displacement would it make much more power?

Just being nosey but why are you asking? Are you trying to mess with the head or what?
you can swap an h22a vtec head to an h23a. think i heard something about the h23a not moving enough oil with the stock pump or something, gotta get the h22a's. maybe somebody else knows what i'm talking about. but i know the heads swap!!!
Get some good oil lines like stainless steel instead of the stock. That might help out.

3 problems people come by when doing this motor:

the vtec head needs to have one or two more oil squirters that the H23 block does not have, which means you have to fabricate your own.

it often leaks oil if not done right.

if your engine H23 is not in very good condition, the head and block will not line up.

IMHO, i think its easier and more efficient to swap in the H22...unless you have the money to do it right
I agree with that, also you would need a DAMN good mechanic to do it for you.

COOL! Are you going all motor then or what?
hey preludesizero did u notice any gans in hp with the s-afc or not???
Yeah.....

I did a shitload of research on this topic. I'm not sure of the bore but swapping a vtec head on is apparently not a problem if done right. There is an oil control orifice between cylinders 2 and 3 on the h23 and I guess it pulls right out and you can install your own squirters in there. One dude I talked to had it in for a year before he turboed it and built up the inside and he said it was great. But the guy owns his own shop so he knows what he's doing. Get a good mechanic and you're set, apparently it's even easier than the LS vtec conversion.

I'll be spraying nitrous as well...so technically it won't be all motor.

I'm still not finished tuning it. I'll get back to you though.
The bore is the same on both motors (h22, h23): 87mm.

I originally upped mine to 87.5mm after resleeving & inserting 9:1 pistons.
Now i've upped the compression to 10:1, and rebored out the sleeves to accept 88.0mm pistons.
DAMN your compression is 10.1:1 with all that boost? Know wonder you make so much HP!:D So approx how much $$$ do you have tied up in your ride? If you don't mind telling.

I thought that you could spray a small shot like 55 and it would be "ok" with your AUTO tranny, but i guess that is speaking relativly.

well, he has a lot of miles on his tranny as well. its not impossible, nor stupid to spray with an auto, but id seriously consider upgrading the auto with level ten stuff or else its gonna be hurting pretty soon.
