just wax them. use the wax that you use for your car.
spray some vinegar diluted w/ water on there and then wash it off.

"Finally, all glass should be cleaned and removed of oils. A great technique being used by detailers for years is newsprint. That’s right, your normal every day black and white newspaper. The ink in newspaper, when used with a light lubricant acts as a fine polish. This polish lightly removes weather damage, and embedded dirt, which then clings to the paper itself providing a great cleaning action. Using a light glass cleaner such as diluted Windex and newspaper does wonders. Make sure you never use this technique on the rear window, as it has thin wires, which are use to defrost and any abrasives from the ink could damage them."

give it a go , never actually tried it yet to cold out in milwaukee, to even consider washing by hand yet

 Won't do anything to water spots

Go to Wal-Mart and get "WINK"!

It's a toilet rust remover and $hit will have your waterspots gone in 2 seconds!!

It's in a brown little plastic container and can be found with the chemicals at Wal-Mart for like $3 a bottle.

Here's what you do:
1) Get some nice rubber gloves so you don't get this $hit on your hands!
2) Get 2 hand towels. On one of the towels wet part of the towel
(maybe 1/2" X 1/2") with Wink. Just a small section.
3) Rub it on the glass with a little bit of force. Once rubbed in pretty good (maybe 3 seconds of rubbing)
4) Take towel #2 that is nice and clean and wipe the $hit off!!!

Now, sit back and tell me what you think of that small section compared to the rest :)

A guy in class (who details cars) told me about this stuff and at first I was skeptical about it.

BUT, once you try it you'll be spreading the word, because this stuff is AMAZING with water spots!!! I did my windows yesterday. The upper parts of the windows needed it since the car had those window guards, and the $hit is sparkling clean!!!!

sweet, thanks for all the help guys. I'm gonna try this wink $hit out today after I put my new carpet in :) i'll post how it worked out tonight. later

My bad on calling it Wink ;) It's actually WHINK :D

I had to pick up some adhesive remover for my emblems and saw the WHINK ;)

Let me know how you like it!!
A mild rubbing compound isnt going to hurt your windows. Ive used it on water spots with great results. If compound doesnt get it off, thats some hard ass water.
Why dont you just save the time and money... and use steel wool. Works great.. but dont use it on your mirrors :D

Steel wool  Isn't there a chance that it could cause tiny scrathes to the glass

I'm telling you. Try WHINK and you'll be loosing the steel wool :p

Steel wool will "not" scratch glass...
Ok, that is cool! I will stick with my Whink and 2 towels though :)
WHINK took my hard water stains off with virutally no effort. you aren't breaking the bank buying it either as it only costs about 4 dollars. Its by all the bathroom cleaners in Wal-Mart and I highly reccommend you purchase it. thank you so much!!!!!

No problem ;)

$h!t's amazing huh? :D

Glad someone finally went out and tried it

Before the reset I posted this and the procedures and no one tried it  ....but, it's all worth it now that I have helped someone :)

Later!
I personally have to stick up for nate and his comment about the steel wool. If you use a good amount of window cleaner ( I highly recomment the armor-all window cleaner) it will not scratch and it will take off all of the water spots. Another thing that it will do is take off any overspray, road grime and oil, and everything else that is on your windshield. I used to detail cars and that was the only thing that they ever used...just remember to use a lot of the window cleaner to keep it from scratching and I gaurantee that you won't be dissapointed with the results.
i know use windex and paper towels maybe???!!!
