I was wondering why you couldnt put a B16 head on a D16Z6 block? whats the difference cuz the block size on a B16 is 1595 and the Z6 is 1590

totally different block,different mounting positions as far as the holes dont match up

the D series is SOHC and the B series is DOHC there is no way they can match up.

that has nothing to do with it,sohc and dohc is all in the head,I think the block design is different

can't match up. b & d-series do not have the same cylinder bore. So cylinders would not even match up. think of it like taking 4 dimes and lining them up side by side. now take 4 nickels and line them up side by side. cylinders are the same way. d-series are 75mm, while b-series are 81mm.
