Hi, i've just had a full de-cat exshaust system (dual) fitted to my ' 92 prelude. It looks and sounds great but i feel that i've lost some performance. Also the mechanics took out the cat temp sensor and left it outside the pipe. this caused the cat warning light to light up on the dash! he told me it would make no difference to the operation of the car. Ok, i gave him the benefit of the doubt.
I conducted some research (this site seemed the best for knowledge) and discovered that size of bore plays an important part when it come to air velocity. I phoned up the exhuast guys to find out what size bore they used. they couldnt remember but guessed 2 1/4 inch, split by smaller pipes at end. I explained my loss in power and he reckoned that the temp sensor might throw the ECU into safe mode! but my VTEC still kicks in????
Why am i loosing power? is it because the bore is too thick? Shall i put the cat back in?
help!
(if its any use my car is a jap import)
thanx in advance!!
