I've been using my girlfriends macbook for about 5 months now, I've used windows sense I can remember, so things are a bit different.
Sometimes when I try to download videos (Depending on the file) I'll open it after it's downloaded and all that happens is the Text Edit program comes up with a shit ton of gibberish.
Here's an example of what opens up.
