Whats up people....I've been sitting with my civic for a minute now. Its a H/B CX, I really didnt want to get into the engine swap but I am looking for a few things to do for more power and looks. Right I got some nice 16" Konig Flights and Ractive Exhaust system. Looking for recommended Intake, Spring & Shocks and other little tweaks to make her nice. Any Ideas? Thanx in advance.

Don't upgrade yoru engine
AT ALL no matter what, I guess exaust is cool if you just want sound but its not going to make that POS any faster, trust me i have one.

CX is a 70 hp engine that has NO POWER, its not even worth upgrading.. Only thing i would consider doing is hookin up nitrous to the engine to blow it up when you have a swap ready for you in the garage.

If you wanna do anything to that car i'd say sound and looks.

i agree don't mess with it isn't it 8 valver too!
get a SOHC VTEC and either SC it or Turbo it! low low 14's and high 13's and major traction problems but you get that with any power making engine. the reason i suggest sohc vtec is cause it's easily replaceable if you get to happy with some laughing gas and blow it! u won't be 4k in the hole you just drop 4-6 bills and walla u have another vtec engine!

why get sohc vtec? if youre on a budget you can go with a b18b swap :) good for fi and all that good stuff :)

ps: as for what youll need mmm................ engine and all its component, wiring, mounting, axel :)

I would go with the b20 motor. In a hb, the b20 and gsr are the same. Meaning that they will run around the same ET. If you ever get bored of the b20, just pop a vtec head on and you'll have a badass motor.

Oh yea, lose that crappy exhaust and get a skunk2/rsr exhaust and for the suspension. I would have to go with Ground Control coilovers and some tokico illuminas or koni yellow.

i'm not a honda guy.....i'mma toyota guy. but i have plenty of frendz with hondas. everyone has a b18 swap, everyone has a b16 swap......if u want some serious power get the H22, LS block with VTEC head, otherwise go with the SOHC VTEC(greddy has a turbo charger for that engine dat pushes very high hp) as for tranny........i'm not to shure in that area. but whatever direction you take.......FORCED INDUCTION baby~!!

b20 and b18c are the same??????? how?

how will they yield the same et thats what im wondering :) unless youre talking about autox:) in a drag race a b18c1 hatch imo would be faster then a b20hatch:) since it does have more hp :)

Your tranny will bolt right up and you'll need:
ex fuel pump, ex ecu, and a wiring harness(Si/95 since you have 5th gen)
There are other small details i have to look up and get back with you about it, but for u it my be very simple, i have a 89 dx hb.;)

And LABlue .... you say why SOHC VTEC, well if you blow a B16a1,a2,a3,B18b,c1,orc5, then you're fucked and out of commision for a good while and getting rides from friends or parents. A sohc Vtec is cheap and easily replacable. I'm getting a 99 EX engine w/ECU for 500 and it has 25k on it!!!!!!! the car it's in is proof of mileage plus the carfax report.
All you peeps act as if a SOHC Vtec can't hang , well race a turbocharged one in a 2000 lb dx hb and then tell me if it can hang, the real ? is can you hang?:eek:

oh yes email me my friend has a 93 cx with an ex SOHC VTEC and a JRSC, he did the swap in like 2 hours. I'll see if i can give you his email, i gotta ask him 1st, he's a mechanic and he has a 00' GS-R that his hb will crush!

mmmmm....... i can see what you try to say but.... :) where im from a b series is just as easy to find as a d engine :) specially b16's and b18b:) you can easily get a cable type b16a for around $1000 :) now think about it....... it have 33 more hp then a ex motor and only cost $500 more ( your price):) can you think of any bolt on mod that give you 33hp and cost about $500????/ :) no bottle :)

uuuuuuummmm good question...I have an answer..A greddy turbo kit off Ebay with No reserve LMAO ... but lets not forget it cost 1000-1500 to put in your b16...and about 60/hr for a sohc vtec swap

a b18c1 would kick the shit out of a b20. It is smaller, light, and th compression ratio's are different. Plus a b18c1 swap is easier to get a hold of.

There is a big price difference between a d16y7 and a b16a2. the D series engine will cost about $1750 with everything, and the B series will cost around $3500 with eveything. I don't know what kind of math you are doing but 3500-1750=1750, twice the price.

lolz people people.......... b20 have ALOT more torque then the b18c1? no... :) 6gen si have alot less torque then 7gen si , but turn in the same et :) as i said in a drag race top end power is where it count :) and whats this thing about a b18c1 is better then a b20 because its smaller lighter and have different cr? :) lolz..... how bout its better cause its makes more power :) last time i check its no that much biger or lighter :)
