Alright guys, I'm not a newbie like the title implies, but I need a little help on tires. I don't want to break the bank here, but I need all the following-- 215/ 'low profile' (under 50) / 16 At least Z rated. I also live in Colorado, so we get snow through April here. These will be mounted on my new Rota Slipstreams (Spoon Sports SW388 Replicas). So yeah, let me know. I'm going to go lift a few weights, and I'll be back. C'ya!

Falken Azenis 215/45/Z16....

Cheapish...Sticky like bull semen..."Best bang for the buck" IMO...better than the Kumho Ecsta Supras. Plus, the 45 series will grant you a bit more ride comfort than the 40's that you mentioned.

(Or you can Bogart your way into Discount Tire Center and jack 4 Michelin Pilot Sports of the same size....but the legality of said suggestion is in quesiton)

Yeah, Azeniseses are the way to go if you never see snow or standing water. Otherwise, get SP5000's and live with average performance year around.

The best bet is to get Azenises for your Rotas & winter tires for your stockers.

Long story short

Well, my sister (don't know if any of you remember Civic4fun or not)-- she has a '96 Green 4dr DX w/ a GS-R motor in it. She claimed the stock GS-R wheels and WILL NOT give them back. So when I sold my Team loco 142's, I was stuck w/ the buyer's Black steel 13's w/ ghetto 205/65/13's in the back, and ultra-ghetto 175/65/R14's in the front, to fit the brakes. This is how I'm rolling now, and it SUCKS. So that's that, those are my only other alterinitive. But the SP5000's are nice, I had those for a while on the stock rims when they were mine. On my locos I had 205/45/16 Falken 502 Ziex on there, those were pretty good too. You may have me sold.

Yeah the Falken Azenis RS are the tire of choice, especially with autoxers right now. If you can get them in your size then go for it, or the Azenis S115 if you want wet traction and a more everyday tire...
If you can't and want to stay within a certain budget let me know what your spending limit is...

Indeed

I had a set of Falken Ziex on the old wheels that I sold, I was pretty sassified. So looks like Azenis are the rubber bands of choice, eh??? I saw 'em in SCC for like 99 per tire for 215/45/16's. Anyone know of any better prices?

RE:

I still love Yoko A520, and my A008RS.. :p

Maybe I should get some A048R....

How long will the tire last isn't my concern.... I rother have some sticky tire, than having an ok tire that will last me forever.

Consider that I have been driving on my RE730 for the past 6months with less than 50% of threads left, and just can't seem to kill them. Plus, holding me back from having fun around corners... THAT PISS ME OFF!! argh.....

Back to the original post...
Well, if you are crazy ass SOB like me who lives from one corner at a time, then my suggestion is having a set of Summer tires, and a set of snow tires. Forget about all 4 season tires.

I know I am way off the direction of this post... but I just wanna bring out some hardcore thoughts.. :p

Oh my god...

Whoa, it's if I've gone back in time. McLaren, I think the last time I posted w/ you is 'bout round the time you passed your kidney stone. I knew the AV520's would come up though if you were around... hehe. But I think you hit the nail on the head, summer and winter tires. Next winter I'll but some decent winter tires, like tractor tires or something... hahah--- riiiight. Anyway, good to see you back, NEWBIE! haha.

Dang... you still remember about that stupid freaking kidney stone... ha ha ha ha ha ha

Well, I ran my RE730 as four season now.. it's fun driving that tire on SNOW... ho ho ho ho ho ho.... Trust me... if you kept it going, it's fun, but if you ever get stock. You better just seat there and call a tow truck... ha ha ha

Well, once I kill this shitty RE730 now, I am going for A008RS for summer, and then some other winter tires for winter for sure!

How's your Turbo?

Turbo?

Think you got the wrong guy-- I was the all-motor freak, still am, just kind of in a lull right now. I'm putting together another LEGO LS/VTEC together, this time w/ a Type R head (in place of the GS-R) and I'm shooting for some TODA KILLER VTEC cams to replace the JUN 2's. But we'll see how it comes together w/ time (and money).

haha, yeah

Oh yeah, K20C would be cool, but just think, save that money for when the RSX-R or even the Civic-R comes out (I've heard next year for the RSX, then 2003 or 4 for the CTR). I want money too, my car is wwaaayy too slow for it's own good right now, it's pathetic. I just need some cams, and possibly some ITB's if money flows the way I'd like it, but then that means AEM computer or Hondata, but whatever, really, I have until either July or September for our IDRC races out here. But of course, SCCA is much more fun.
