I always hear dont turbo a higher mileage car but i have never known why. What usually goes bad or breaks on a higher mileage motor?
you can, just leakdown/compression test should be performed first because higher mileage motors have wear and tear on them that after turbochargin, could really fuck up your motor, which has gone for xxx,xxx miles without it.

Mainly your worried about blow by. If you have a old worn out motor with worn out rings, then you go and put 10psi on it your gonna find oil coming out of places you didn't think it could. It will blow out gaskets, blow oil out of the pcv to the point where you will suck strait oil through your intake, all kinds of neat stuff like that. We turboed my friends probe once and it had bad rings, that thing would pore smoke out from under the hood when you got on it from all the oil leaking out of the cam seals and valve cover gasket.
