I just recently heard it coming from the engine. Starts at idle when the car is warmed up. And it changes pitch when revved but disappears, whether due to the engine drowning it out, i dunno.

I called Jackson Racing to make an appointment today. He asked me if I had a Supercharger... so this is why I am concerned that it might be a supercharger issue.

At worst, its something with the charger... at best its teh water pump... either way its not a cheap fix.

So, any ideas as to what it may be? My car only has about 72000 miles so I wouldnt think the water pump would be out yet...

Hmm, well my CAI makes a high pitched whirring noise at idle on very cold mornings right when I start the car. My stock FPR makes a high pitched whirring noise because I drilled a hole in it to reduce fuel pressures. And my Walbro GSS-342 makes a high pitched whirring noise all the time. Could it be any of those?

the whirring noise starts when the car has warmed up. i can hear it at idle up to like 3000 rpm... when i assume it just gets drwoned out by the engine/supercharger/exhaust.

Do you ahve the stock fuel pump? The JR pumps are pretty loud, could just be that. Is it an electrical sound, or an actuall mechanical sound.

sounds mechanical... yeah i got a stock JR fpr and stock fuel pump. als the sound just recently developed and i've had it for like 2 years or more now, so i doubt its a normal sound.

alternators make a high pitched whining noise right before theyre about to go out

i would have that checked out first, before its too late!

mine did that too.. turned out it was bad JR pullys.. apparently the older design tends to eventually wear out and makes a lot of noise when they do.. actually, i had the added bonus of that noise drowning out the sound of my timing belt tensioner going bad..

damn that wouldnt be cheap to replace if that were the problem...

Take ur car to local Honda Certified Dealer to get inspected
