This might be in the wrong forum if it is please move:

Onto the question: me and a couple buddies were out cruzing and heard a few cars making a hissing sound when they shifted now is that a type of air shifter or their turbo ???? or what is it ???

Well their was a 93 Civic and a i think 97 Prelude and im not sure what year Integra maybe 95-96

it was like a release of air a loud pussssssshhhhhhhh (hiss)

kinda like someone hitting air-ride but it was when they shifted

BOV??? Blow-Off Valve perhaps...the cars were probably equipped with a turbo.

Its purpose is to release trapped air/pressure when the TB plate is closed. In-betwwen shifts is most likely when the sound is made...it provides logetivity to the turbo.
