hey all i just had a quick question
i just raced a 95 civic ex stock
i have a 93 civic hatch back dx with a 1.6 sohc vtec (d16z6)
the problem with my car is that i dont have the p28 computer so im running the car with no vtec

my question is
how was i able to beat him???
if i have no vtec i have the stock p06 computer that came with the 1.5 non vtec
so how was i able to beat him ? since i have no vtec??? :confused
oh i also have my stock dx tranny and intake.
any info please fill me in thanx

ok a race isnt always based on engine. it takes a good driver to drive a car and i guess u out drove him. wat im saying is ur DX can beat a granny in a EX anyday ok. :rolleyes i really dont see how this is a tech question but yea ill move it

maybe it was an auto. there is enough reason right there u would beat him with or without vtec. your dx is much lighter than a real si beacause no abs and maybe no P/S so theres another reason. i beat any civic in my Si except the 99/00 si and new si. the d16z6 is a beast. also i beat a newb driver on a 2000 si from the stop light to 90 mph on my 1994 si. driving skill is a huge factor.

drivers race, i beat ex's in my dx all the time, and it still has the 1.5 in it. like for example my friend has a 97 ex w/ i/h/e/shortshifter and i have i/e/shortshifter but because i am a better driver than him, i beat him everytime.

it dont matter how much power you have, if you dont know how to drive, then you will always be slower than someone who knows how to drive. that is unless its two automatics racing, then its al about power.

man I pull on SOHC VTEC ex's and older SI's all the time.I think alot of it is driver,most people dont know how to drive.
