Hi I have a 1990 Acura Integra RS with a Automatic transmission and Im looking into puting a JDM Vtec engine with a Gsr tranny into it. How would i get started with that project and what all would i need to complete it.

you would need everything the american counterpart of your car would have...... ECU ( will come with the swap) transmission ( also comes with the swap),shift linkage( may come with the swap), center console, complete petal assembly, clutch master, clutch hydraulic line. clutch slave ( may also come with the swap), manuel wiring harness........ please note if Im forgetting anything
well, all the parts for the swap, plus the interior peices:

gsr shifter, knob, clutch pedal assembly, clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, shift linkages, manual ecu, and all necessary bolts and mounts...

Will I need to custom make anything or drill holes if so how will I know were to drill them.
there shouldnt be any holes that need to be drilled......... where the clutch master should sit there is a plate that you would just need to remove in order to bolt up the clutch master..... Also if your going with a JDM VTEC swap you would need to shorten/lengthen your shiftlinkage depending on what one you use...... for ease I would use a 90-93 integra shift linkage.... that would need to be lengthened about a inch and a half.
But would I have to get the shift linkage cut and welded if I decided to use the shift linkage for a JDM. And when I get the pedals I have to take the brake pedal used for the automatic transmission and put a manual transmission brake pedal in. Also I think I would have to make a bigger hole inside the shift colum so the shifter can slide through and the shifter theres a piece were it bolts up underneth the car to help hold and stablize the shifter. What do i do about that. Is there and thing you can send to me showing step by step picture instructions for an Acura 1990 Integra if so you think you can email them tome at [email protected]

my friend and i asked the guy at honda (he has a 95 integra)
the guy sed it would cost like 5 grand (cnd) and he set just buy a manual it will be cheeper and less hassle.
it doesnt cost 5 grand, the guys retarded, and i am sure he means with new parts.....

if you buy a motor swap, then you already have the tranny... and the rest of the peices (minus the clutch and flywheel) can be had for a few hundred dollars....

it COULD cost you 5 grand if your retarded.... But i dont really see it costing more than a grand including a new aftermarket clutch.

but he is right by saying that its easier to sell the car for a manual.... thats up to you.... whats the car worth to you? is it stock? if so i would sell it for a manual and hopefullly make some cash bc manuals are cheaper than autos..... but if your in my shoes..... the n you cant sell the car bc its mildly modified with a salvaged title and an automatic...

see noone wants an auto with bolt ons, bc if you want an auto tranny, you probably dont want any mods.
Yes he ment 5 grand Canadaian thats what (cnd) ment he ment new parts and them doing the work.
krillz im in the same spot as you. no mods though, but nearing 100k miles and no one would want a 4 door teg with an auto trans and that kinda mileage. plus i love the hell outta my car, so i will spend the 1.5 - 2 grand to get my swap done. some day...
wow, i thought i was the only one in the world with a auto salvaged car. im planning on doing the swap too but many people dont want to do it because its so much hassle. people tell me to sell and get a manual but im like notthereyet. i love my car even though it is salvaged. my cars running better then the day ive bought it. so im just going to drive the shit out of it and just replace everything when something blows. anyways, u just really need to find someone that is willing to do that kind of swap for u. 1500 is a good price i think. thats the estimates ive been getting. someone correct me if im wrong. soon, there will be a b18c5 in my baby. depending on how fast i can blow my motor and tranny :D
