How do I get the shift linkage pin out? I tried for about 2 hours with no luck. I am about to just pull the engine with the linkage hookup up because its pissin me off.
yeah, i had that same issue. i still can't get it off my old motor. We just pulled out the motor with the linkage still attached and said fuck it. Only problem...my new motor has a cut linkage still attached....I guess thats the way the world works, oh well.
why do you have to replace it with a new one? I have installed about 100 clutches and I have never replaced that pin. A punch will work the best, but if your in a bind and need it out now just use a good size phillops head screw driver. Oh and hit that shite hard with a hammer.
With a tapered drift, go to www.sportcompactcar.web. Look for the honda engine swap guide, and then look for the part where they talk about swapping an ls engine into an eg. They say to use something called a tapered drift, they show a picture of it.
Like what most people have said, just use a punch or a screwdriver to pop it out. You have to take the metal ring out first, then you can pop the pin out.
